Life Preserver & Accent Nails

From time to time I feel like I fall into a nail polish rut, where I’ll either wear a single polish for a couple of weeks or forgo polish altogether.  This is one of those times, but I’m trying to break myself out of the rut by adding nail art or accent nails after a few days of wear.

One of the polishes I’ve been wearing often is China Glaze Life Preserver, from the Spring 2011 Anchors Away collection (I think it’s a core color now).  Even though neons are ‘in’ this summer, Life Preserver‘s dusty burnt orange kept catching my eye each time I searched my stash for a polish.  The formula is really nice – nearly opaque in one coat and applied smoothly with a shiny finish.

To spice it up the first time, I added an accent nail with Zoya Myrta, a shimmery orange from the recent Beach collection (photos taken in natural and artificial light, respectively):

The next time I wore Life Preserver, I added an accent nail with China Glaze Aquadelic, from the Spring 2012 Electropop collection (photos taken in natural light).

So there you go!  Hopefully I can break out of this rut soon… I suspect the upcoming China Glaze collections, On Safari and Bohemian, will do just that.

  1. Looks good, I’ve been looking for an orange that doesn’t make my hands look like I got into a fight with a traffic cone. I’ll have to give it a try! 🙂
