I recently qualified for the Something Blue VoxBox from Influenster (if you’re not familiar with Influenster, check out my post for more information). The box had a wedding-inspired theme and was packed with items to help brides or bridesmaids get ready for the big day.
The first item to catch my attention was the Luster NOW! Instant Whitening Toothpaste. I’ve been using it for over a week now, and I have to say… it’s very effective. It promises instant whitening after the first use and, while I didn’t see a huge change, I did see immediate results. For me, it had a bit more whitening power than the whitening toothpastes I typically use. The consistently is a bit thick when brushing, so don’t let that surprise you if you decide to try it. And, at only $7.99, it is worth a try!
The next item I pulled out of the box was a packet of Urgent Rx Ache & Pain Fast Powder. Since I have difficulty swallowing most pills, I am used to taking pain relievers in powder form – Goody, BC, you name it. I’m a fan because the powders work quickly, and Urgent Rx is no exception. I can see them being very convenient for travel; I’m definitely going to grab some for my upcoming beach vacation. They retail for $1.39.
I don’t typically wear heels, so the next item will come in handy to keep my feet comfortable when I need to wear them. Dr. Scholl’s For Her Ball of Foot Cushions are a gel cushion you place under the ball of your foot (surprise!) to absorb shock and keep your feet from sliding forward in the shoe. When you feel them before putting them in the shoe, they’re slightly flexible with a “grippy” surface. In the shoe, they’re very comfortable and do keep my foot from sliding. I’m not sure how much use I’ll get out of them, but if you regularly wear heels… these can be a lifesaver. They are $6.99.
Then we have the Kiss everEZlashes. As with heels, I don’t use fake lashes. I’m happy with just a bit of mascara, but of course I gave these lashes a try. I like that Influenster and Kiss decided to include a natural pair and a more dramatic pair so I could compare the two. Both applied easily using the Kiss applicator and the adhesive/glue worked well, too. I gave both lashes a quick trim to my desired length and wore them for a few hours. The #03 pair was my favorite since they weren’t a huge change from my own lashes. You know how you can find a lipstick that is “your lips, but better”? These were “my lashes, but better”. A duo pack retails for $4.98.
The next item I already owned before I received them in the VoxBox. I am a big fan of using Q-TIPS Precision Tips when I paint my nails and do nail art. They’re perfect for cleaning up around the edge of the nail and cuticle to give me a very crisp line. I simply dip the Q-Tip in acetone nail polish remover and swipe around the nail edge. Simple as that. I also like to use them if I get a little mascara out of place or to get the last bit of product out of a bottle. So many great uses and only $2.59-$3.35 a box.
The final item in my box was a pamphlet from MyTrio Rings. They specialize in engagement ring and wedding band sets (hence, trio) in both yellow and white gold. After browsing the site, I found that my favorite set was this bridal ring duo. It’s simple and classic and definitely my style. I’d pair it with a very simple white gold men’s wedding band for a perfect set.
