There is going to be a theme with this month’s box – products that are not for me. I have heard good things about Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge (seen here in Sydney), but the color, while pretty, is not one I would wear. Other reviews state that it’s a moisturizing liquid lipstick with amazing pigmentation, though you do have to let it set for a few minutes.
The full size (7 g) is $29; the sample (1.7 g) is worth around $7.
When I saw Glow Getter Luminizer Gel from Jelly Pong Pong as an option for March’s box, I was hoping I’d get it. Unfortunately, as soon as I took it out of the box I noticed that it was rather glittery. I like my luminizers / highlighters to be a bit more subtle.
This is apparently a full-size product (it’s about the size of a mini nail polish – 4 ml), valued at $12.75.
The Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo is one of the two products in this month’s box that I’m able to put to work. It sprays clear, which means no white/grey powdery residue is left in the hair. The downside is that it doesn’t seem to absorb as much oil as my regular dry shampoos. I find it’s best for a quick volume touch-up or texturizing spray, rather than an actual dry shampoo. I have to use a light touch, as it can look oily otherwise. Also, I feel as though the scent could be off-putting for some people; it’s a strong citrus scent that is reminiscent of lemon furniture spray.
The full size (5 fl oz) is $25, and the sample (1.4 oz) generally retails for $11.
This is Paula’s Choice Resist Moisture Renewal Oil Booster. For tight, dry skin. My face has no problem in the oil-producing department, soooooooo… I’ll pass this sample along to someone who needs it.
The full size (0.67oz) is $35, the sample (0.12oz) is worth just over $6.
Finally, I received the generously sized Fekkai PrX Reparatives Intense Fortifying Masque sample. As it’s meant to be a weekly deep conditioning treatment and I only use it on the ends of my hair, the sample will last a while. The product is very thick and left my ends feelings soft without weighing them down. The scent is pleasant. For me, it comes across as a mixture of vanilla and cocoa butter.
The full size (7 oz) is $25, the sample (1.69 oz) is worth just over $6.
Box Value: This month’s box is worth around $42, but if I only count the products I’ll use, it’s more like $17.
