First up, I received Masque Chroma Captive from Kérastase.  I couldn’t test the main benefit of this product, which is to preserve color in color-treated hair, but what I can say is that the masque left my hair soft and shiny after use.  I applied it mainly on my ends, since my hair is so thin and fine that I worry about using heavy products near the root.  Overall, I was impressed, though I am not sure I would ever drop nearly $63 for more.

The full size (6.8 oz) is a pricey $62.50, making the sample (1 oz) worth about $9.

My sample pick for this month was Dermaclear Micro Water from Dr. Jart.  Before getting this in my box, I hadn’t tried a micellar water and was excited to see Dermaclear up for selection.  It does a decent job removing my makeup and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh.  The one con is that it does leave my skin a bit tacky for around 5-10 minutes after use.  You’re meant to be able to use this product without rinsing, but due to the tacky feeling I did rinse more often than not.

The full size (8.4 oz) is $32, so the sample (0.7 oz) is worth around $2.50.

Marcelle’s Waterproof Eyeliner in Blue Lagoon was a pleasant surprise.  I don’t often use blue liners, but trying it out is making me consider the black or charcoal version when I need another liner.  It applied smoothly and didn’t budge until I used the micro water above to easily remove it.  Can’t ask for much more!

The full size pencil (0.04 oz) retails for $11, so this sample size (0.028 oz) is worth just under $8.

I feel like by this point I’ve tried nearly every Coola product through my two subscription services.  I used to complain about them years ago because the samples were tiny (barely one use), but I think Coola got the message because the last couple of samples have been double the old size. This one in particular has been nice to try.  The scent is subtle… a hint of mango mixed with a traditional sunscreen scent.  Lovely.  Plus, it’s 50 SPF and water resistant for 80 minutes.

A full size tube (5 oz) is $32, making the sample (0.5 oz) worth $3.20.

I’m a fan of Tocca perfumes and I own a few of their rollerballs.  I’d add this one to the collection, only I don’t think Tocca offers it in rollerball size.  The scent is just… pretty.  Sweet citrus and light florals.  Great for spring and summer.  Get on that rollerball, Tocca!  (I am going to have to grab a full size at some point, the bottles are great.)

A 1.7 oz bottle of Bianca is $68, but I value all perfume samples at $1.

Finally, I received a Pura Vida elastic headband.  These never work for me.  Maybe my head is oddly shaped.  I’m passing it along.

A set of 8 bands is $18, making one worth $2.25.

Box Value: The total value of my samples this month is around $25.
