If you’re not familiar with it, Ipsy is a $10 (USD)/month subscription service (shipping included for the US; with an additional shipping fee for Canada). Each month, subscribers receive 4-5 deluxe sample or full-size beauty and skincare products. You also get a (sometimes) cute makeup bag containing all of the samples.
In January’s bag I received the following:
City Color Eyeshadow Trio in Falling Leaves – The colors in this trio are definitely ones I prefer, but since I have so many similar shadows I’ll probably pass this along. It’s full size and retails for $5.99 on the City Color site.
Mitchell and Peach Body Cream in English Leaf – Hand and body creams are an item I always appreciate receiving in beauty boxes. This one goes on without being greasy and absorbs well into the skin. The scent is a ‘green floral’… like a nicely flowering plant in the spring. The sample is worth about $8.50.
Pur-lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum – I haven’t tried it yet, but it is pricey. The full size is $65.00, and the small sample I received is nearly half of the full size… so that tiny tube is worth about $30. I’m expecting some great things, guys.
Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Curl Mascara – This is another product I have yet to try, since I have so many mascaras I’m currently trying to get through. I hear/read mixed reviews, but I’ll reserve judgment until I give it a go. This is a full size product that retails for $21.95.
theBalm Mr. Write Now Eyeliner Pencil in Jac – One of Ipsy’s first spoilers for January’s bag was for this product, and I was excited to receive it. Once I tested it on the back of my hand I was even more pleased. The formula is great; it applies smoothly but stays in place without smudging. The color I received is a flattering bronze which is neither too shimmery nor too flat. It retails for $17 on theBalm’s site.
The total value of January’s bag is about $83.
