If you’re not familiar with it, Ipsy is a $10 (USD)/month subscription service (shipping included for the US; with an additional shipping fee for Canada). Each month, subscribers receive 4-5 deluxe sample or full-size beauty and skincare products. You also get a (sometimes) cute makeup bag containing all of the samples.
This month I received:
Pixi Beauty Blush Duo in Rose Gold (full size, $18) – This duo contains a blush with a sheer pink sheen, and a white gold highlight. I haven’t tried it apart from a quick swatch on the back of my hand, but it seems promising. I definitely appreciate that it’s full size!
Beau Gâchis Paris Eye Shadow Brush (full size, $12) – According to Beau Gâchis this brush is “made from the very latest high grade animal and synthetic hair, natural wood, and copper ferrules.” It’s very lightweight, soft, and does a decent job picking up shadow. I’ll use it.
Vera Mona Eye shadow in Clover (full Lotus palette $32.99; sample size 0.05oz, ~$4) – It’s not really a shade I’d use as a shadow… to me, it’s more of a cross between a blush and a highlight and may be better suited as the latter. It applies nicely and blends out well.
Marc Anthony Perfect Blow Dry Smoothing Cream (full size 200ml, $8.99; sample size 50ml, ~$2) – This keratin-infused cream claims it will keep your hair straight, shiny, and frizz-free for up to three days. I haven’t tested the claim yet (I usually wash my hair daily), but I can tell you that it smells nice!
NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Soft Spoken (full size, $7) – This item was the one I was most excited to try when I saw the sneak peek into my bag. It’s a pinky brown liquid lipstick that dries down to a matte finish. It’s not totally transfer-proof, but it does stick around well if you give it time to set. Also, it’s not as drying as I expected it to be. Total plus. Makes me want to try out more shades in line.
Bag Value for March: ~$43
