Quoted descriptions are from Ipsy’s site or the brand’s site.

theBalm Cosmetics Bahama Mama – This is a matte, natural-looking bronzer with brown undertones.  I definitely prefer it to more orange-based bronzers.

Burt’s Bees Lipstick in Suede Splash – This lipstick has 100% natural ingredients AND recyclable packaging.  It contains raspberry and moringa seed oils to moisturize and has a stain finish.

EYEKO Eyeko Fat Eye Stick in Satin – A shadow stick that “delivers creamy color that you can quickly swipe on”.  Wear it on its own for a look with a slight sheen, or layer under powder.

OUAI Treatment Masque – This hair mask it meant to give you softer, smoother hair. Keratin and amino acids add strength and prevent damage.

Ladykin Affinitic Snail Cream – The packaging!  The product!  It contains snail secretion to “heal damaged skin, boost elasticity, and leave your complexion smooth and hydrated.”

Birchbox – March 2017

Birchbox is a $10 (USD)/month subscription service (shipping included).  Each month, subscribers receive at least five beauty, grooming, and/or lifestyle samples.  Birchbox is also available in France, Spain, and the UK.

Coastal Scents Revealed Smoky Palette – The full palette features “twenty can’t-go-wrong shades in a variety of textures and colors, this shadow collection comes with blendable hues to craft any smoky look—from subtle and elegant to dark and smoldering.”

ARROW ENHANCE Waterproof Brightener – this “pearlescent pink” pencil “gives eyes an instant pick-me-up, brightening and accentuating your natural eye color”.  The full size comes dual-ended, with a highly pigmented black eyeliner on the other end.

TOCCA Emelia Eau de Parfum – “Equal parts zesty and bohemian, the refreshing blend offers fruity layers of clementine, fig and coconut water, backed by warm florals like magnolia and geranium.”

Beauty Protector Protect & Volume – This non-greasy mist adds “touchable body and volume without any stickiness—no product buildup allowed.” It adds shine without weighing down your hair, and has a lovely floral scent.

Real Chemistry Fresh-Start Foaming Cleanser – This “zesty grapefruit cleanser” gently removes makeup, oil, and dirt while leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. Great for “dry, sensitive, acne-prone, and even aging complexions.”

Sephora Play – March 2017

Play! by Sephora is a $10/month subscription box program. Every month subscribers receive a bag of deluxe samples as well as a Play Pass to redeem in store for free expert advice and 50 extra Beauty Insider points (with any purchase). The six samples are curated from the prestige brands Sephora carries online/in-store.  Typically, there are five deluxe samples and a fragrance sample.

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink – Glides on easily, and has a long wear time (you know, hence the name) provided you use a decent primer.  Also fills in as a quick highlight stick if needed!

Glam Glow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer – Haven’t used it yet, but it’s meant to hydrate, blur, and enhance your complexion.

Benefit Watt’s Up! Cream-to-Powder Highlighter – This one I’ve used many times in the past… I seem to get enough samples of it to last forever.  It’s a pretty good highlighter; able to be used on many complexions, swipes on easily, blends out well, great finish.

Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm – It’s a “makeup and skin-care hybrid” that primes and finishes (so, you can use it as a step in the beginning or end of your makeup routine).  It’s meant to give an all-over glow.

Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast – Love, love, love this stuff. I’m always looking out for products that give my hair volume and a fuller look, and this one fits the bill.  The fact that it also doubles as a sort of dry shampoo is a definite plus.

Chloe Fleur de Parfum – I like this floral fragrance, but then, I’m usually pleased with Chloe scents.  This one has notes of lemon, verbena, freesia, rose, cherry blossom, white cedar, almond, and amber.

Birchbox – February 2017

Birchbox is a $10 (USD)/month subscription service (shipping included).  Each month, subscribers receive at least five beauty, grooming, and/or lifestyle samples.  Birchbox is also available in France, Spain, and the UK.

Wilma Schumann Skincare Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads (full size $18/5 pair; sample value $3.60/1 pair) – These 100% pure collagen pads hydrate the skin under your eyes and reduce puffiness.  Haven’t used my pair yet, but I’m looking forward to it; I’ve had some issues with bags under my eyes lately.

Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Antioxidant Serum with Retinol (full size $34; sample value ~$6) – A treatment that is meant to combat aging and acne at the same time while reducing the look of pores.

LAQA & Co. Avo Lip Butter in Ninza (full size $15; sample value estimate ~$4) – This came instead of my sample choice, much to my disappointment (suuuuper not my shade).  Upon opening, I discovered that it was smashed into the lid and that the bullet itself was broken from the base.  It went straight into the trash.  Bummer.

Obliphica Professional Seaberry Mask (full size $38; sample value $3) – This hair mask is meant for medium to coarse hair.  Mine is fine and thin.  Another miss in this box, sadly.  It’ll get passed along and enjoyed, especially if it smells similar to the Obliphica Professional hair oil I received in an earlier box.

Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry (full size $32; sample value $3) – A blow dry lotion that heals split ends, prevents breakage, and protects against heat styling and UV rays.  Seems to do the job!  Smells lovely.

I haven’t had a chance to try this month’s items, so general descriptions from Birchbox are below!

Birchbox January 2017

Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment (full size $105; sample value $17.85) – This is a lactic acid treatment that exfoliates dead skin cells, plumps fine lines, and evens out hyperpigmentation.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner (full size $18; sample value $10.29) – Per Birchbox, “this user-friendly liquid liner goes on velvety smooth and features a pen-style applicator to control the thickness of your eyeliner look.”

Arrow Endure Water-Resistant Mascara (full size $20; sample value $9.23) – From Birchbox’s own brand, this mascara is deeply pigmented and water-resistant, giving clump-free length and volume.

Birchbox January 2017

R+Co Oblivion Clarifying Shampoo and Restorative Gel Conditioner (full size $24; sample values $4 + $0.96) – This deep cleaning shampoo removes product buildup with a mix of rosemary leaf extract, coconut oil, and witch hazel.  The conditioner nourishes and strengthens with vitamin E, sweet almond oil, and coconut oil.

Juliette Has a Gun MMMM… (full size $100-$135; sample value $1) – A newer launch from Juliette Has a Gun, MMMM… is a floral, gourmand, oriental fragrance.  Notes include: neroli, raspberry, geranium, orange flower, jasmine Sambac, tuberose, iris, patchouli, sandalwood, and salicilates.

Sephora Play January 2017

Tarte Frxxxtion Stick (full size $22; sample value $4.84) – This is Tarte’s new exfoliating gel cleanser; it twists up and goes from a solid gel to a cleansing lather.  It is a physical exfoliant, so I have to take care not to use too much pressure when applying to my face (though, really, it’s fairly gentle).  I don’t know that I’d use it daily, but I do like it.

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey (full size $17; sample value $9.71) – Cult classic, right?  It applies smoothly and leaves a sheer wash of berry color behind. The formula is very much like a lip balm, and wears off easily.

Sephora Play January 2017

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Face Lifting Moisturizer Broad Spectrum (full size $66; sample value $25.38) – This is an anti-aging moisturizer that combines resveratrol and hyaluronic acid to lift, firm, and plump skin.  I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve liked all of the Caudalie products I’ve used in the past.

Boscia BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 27 PA ++ (full size $38; sample value $7.60) – Another one I haven’t tried… it’s a beauty balm that provides light coverage, moisturizes, and protects skin with an oil-free formula.

Ouai Treatment Masque (full size $32; sample value $6.67) – This hair mask restores damaged hair and leaves hair smooth and soft.  Also, it smells great, like all of the Ouai products.

Pinrose Wild Child (full size $varies; sample value $1) – I reaaaaaaaally wish this weren’t a one-use sample, since I like to give fragrances a few tries before deciding if it’s worth a purchase.  I appreciate the idea behind the packaging (Pinrose actually sells boxes of these ‘samples’ for travel use), but, eh.  As for the fragrance itself… it’s one of my favorites from Pinrose.  Very floral, with notes of gardenia, jasmine, and plumeria.
