It’s been a pretty hectic month, so I haven’t tried most of these items.  Quoted descriptions are from Ipsy’s site or the brand’s site.

BelláPierre Cosmetics VolumeLash Waterproof Mascara (full size, $20) –  “The flexible brush perfectly separates and coats every single lash, so your fringe looks completely full and defined. Even though it’s waterproof, a makeup removing wipe will take it right off, no tugging or rubbing (or lash damage) required.”

Luna Cosmetics Highlighter in Calypso (full size, $23) – “With just the right mix of both cool and warm undertones, the pale lavender shade flatters any and every skin tone. Easily layerable, one coat is pseudo-sheer, adding more on top puts you into serious strobing territory. A baked formula = a creamy and velvety texture.”

NYX Butter Lipstick in Ripe Berry (full size, $6) – “Right now this satin finish is our goldilocks texture. Glossy is too much. Matte isn’t doing the trick. But this is just right! These are so insanely creamy that there’s no need to use lip balm beforehand.”

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in $12 Latte (full size, $15) – “Going above and beyond much of the competition, these super shiny formulas are 10-free. Equally fab, the brand is vegan and cruelty free.”  Though it is described as a “deep grayish-purplish-brown”, it really just looks brown on the nail.

MOR Rosa Noir Hand & Body Milk (full size $36; sample value $2.16) – “It does exactly what a good hand cream should do: hydrate (using shea butter and macadamia oil), without leaving hands so slippery or greasy that you can’t do anything.” The scent includes notes of wild rose, hibiscus, and fig.

Wilma Schumann Skincare Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads (full size $18/5 pair; sample value $3.60/1 pair) – These 100% pure collagen pads hydrate the skin under your eyes and reduce puffiness.  Haven’t used my pair yet, but I’m looking forward to it; I’ve had some issues with bags under my eyes lately.

Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Antioxidant Serum with Retinol (full size $34; sample value ~$6) – A treatment that is meant to combat aging and acne at the same time while reducing the look of pores.

LAQA & Co. Avo Lip Butter in Ninza (full size $15; sample value estimate ~$4) – This came instead of my sample choice, much to my disappointment (suuuuper not my shade).  Upon opening, I discovered that it was smashed into the lid and that the bullet itself was broken from the base.  It went straight into the trash.  Bummer.

Obliphica Professional Seaberry Mask (full size $38; sample value $3) – This hair mask is meant for medium to coarse hair.  Mine is fine and thin.  Another miss in this box, sadly.  It’ll get passed along and enjoyed, especially if it smells similar to the Obliphica Professional hair oil I received in an earlier box.

Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry (full size $32; sample value $3) – A blow dry lotion that heals split ends, prevents breakage, and protects against heat styling and UV rays.  Seems to do the job!  Smells lovely.

Sephora Play – February 2017

Play! by Sephora is a $10/month subscription box program. Every month subscribers receive a bag of deluxe samples as well as a Play Pass to redeem in store for free expert advice and 50 extra Beauty Insider points (with any purchase). The six samples are curated from the prestige brands Sephora carries online/in-store.  Typically, there are five deluxe samples and a fragrance sample.

Sephora Collection Lashcraft Length & Volume Mascara (full size $12; sample value ~$4) – This mascara has a flat paddle-shaped wand that lifts lashes and a nylon-infused formula that leaves you without clumps or smudging.

Nars Velvet Lip Glide in Bound (full size $26; sample value ~$9) – A medium nude-pink liquid lipstick that applies easily and has a semi-matte finish.  Wear time is average; a few hours before I needed to reapply.

Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy in Milkshake (full size $22; sample value ~$5) – This is a sheer tinted gloss that visibly plumps lips and contains avocado and jojoba oils to soften and hydrate.  I don’t use glosses very often, but it does give my lips a slightly fuller look.

Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence (full size $72-$122; sample value $1) – A flanker to the original Decadence, this woody/earthy fragrance has notes of Champagne Extract, Orange Blossom, Creamy Bergamot, Gardenia, Hydrangea, Honeysuckle, Saffron, Vanilla, and Liquid Amber.

Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer (full size $29.50; sample value ~$4) – This oil-free, lightweight moisturizer both provides all-day hydration and blurs imperfections, making it a perfect primer.

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream (full size $30; sample value $10) – An eye cream that contains coffee beans, ginseng, and magnolia extract to brighten and depuff the undereye area.

It’s been a pretty hectic month, so I haven’t tried most of these items.  Quoted descriptions are from Ipsy’s site or the brand’s site.

Ipsy January 2017

Pacifica Blushious Coconut & Rose Infused Cheek Color in Wildrose (full size $12) – This is a “universally flattering cheek color with subtle pink and peach undertones that creates a natural blush that will highlight any complexion.”

Trust Fund Beauty Lip Gloss in Method to the Madness (full size $22) – Ipsy says this gloss is “easily buildable; one coat delivered a rosy sheen, two coats added a more noticeable flush to our lips.”

Smashbox Cosmetics Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35 in Light (full size $39; sample value $9.75) – This BB cream has a bit of coverage with a dewy finish.  It also hydrates and has added sun protection.

Ipsy January 2017

Jelly Pong Pong Coffee + Coconut Lip Scrub (full size $19) – “A little scoop of the shea-butter and sugar scrub buffs away any trace of flakes or dead skin, leaving lips soft, silky, and ready for lipstick application.”

Pretty Woman Nail Polish in I’m Not A Ballerina (full size $7.99) – This polish is a pale pink that is opaque in two coats.  It did chip after a day, even with a top coat, which is unfortunate.

I haven’t had a chance to try this month’s items, so general descriptions from Birchbox are below!

Birchbox January 2017

Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment (full size $105; sample value $17.85) – This is a lactic acid treatment that exfoliates dead skin cells, plumps fine lines, and evens out hyperpigmentation.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner (full size $18; sample value $10.29) – Per Birchbox, “this user-friendly liquid liner goes on velvety smooth and features a pen-style applicator to control the thickness of your eyeliner look.”

Arrow Endure Water-Resistant Mascara (full size $20; sample value $9.23) – From Birchbox’s own brand, this mascara is deeply pigmented and water-resistant, giving clump-free length and volume.

Birchbox January 2017

R+Co Oblivion Clarifying Shampoo and Restorative Gel Conditioner (full size $24; sample values $4 + $0.96) – This deep cleaning shampoo removes product buildup with a mix of rosemary leaf extract, coconut oil, and witch hazel.  The conditioner nourishes and strengthens with vitamin E, sweet almond oil, and coconut oil.

Juliette Has a Gun MMMM… (full size $100-$135; sample value $1) – A newer launch from Juliette Has a Gun, MMMM… is a floral, gourmand, oriental fragrance.  Notes include: neroli, raspberry, geranium, orange flower, jasmine Sambac, tuberose, iris, patchouli, sandalwood, and salicilates.

Sephora Play January 2017

Tarte Frxxxtion Stick (full size $22; sample value $4.84) – This is Tarte’s new exfoliating gel cleanser; it twists up and goes from a solid gel to a cleansing lather.  It is a physical exfoliant, so I have to take care not to use too much pressure when applying to my face (though, really, it’s fairly gentle).  I don’t know that I’d use it daily, but I do like it.

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey (full size $17; sample value $9.71) – Cult classic, right?  It applies smoothly and leaves a sheer wash of berry color behind. The formula is very much like a lip balm, and wears off easily.

Sephora Play January 2017

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Face Lifting Moisturizer Broad Spectrum (full size $66; sample value $25.38) – This is an anti-aging moisturizer that combines resveratrol and hyaluronic acid to lift, firm, and plump skin.  I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve liked all of the Caudalie products I’ve used in the past.

Boscia BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 27 PA ++ (full size $38; sample value $7.60) – Another one I haven’t tried… it’s a beauty balm that provides light coverage, moisturizes, and protects skin with an oil-free formula.

Ouai Treatment Masque (full size $32; sample value $6.67) – This hair mask restores damaged hair and leaves hair smooth and soft.  Also, it smells great, like all of the Ouai products.

Pinrose Wild Child (full size $varies; sample value $1) – I reaaaaaaaally wish this weren’t a one-use sample, since I like to give fragrances a few tries before deciding if it’s worth a purchase.  I appreciate the idea behind the packaging (Pinrose actually sells boxes of these ‘samples’ for travel use), but, eh.  As for the fragrance itself… it’s one of my favorites from Pinrose.  Very floral, with notes of gardenia, jasmine, and plumeria.
